Synopsis

Hella Jongerius is one of the most influential designers of the past three decades. Working across ceramics, textiles, furniture, lighting and interiors, her research-led approach has helped redefine contemporary design and inspired a generation of makers and designers.

Published to accompany the Vitra Design Museum's major retrospective, this richly illustrated monograph draws on Jongerius' archive to reveal the sketches, prototypes and experiments behind her work. Featuring an introduction by Alice Rawsthorn, an extensive interview with Hella Jongerius and Louise Schouwenberg, and essays by leading design writers and curators, it offers a rare insight into an extraordinary creative practice.
